Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. That’s why the entire month of February is devoted to raising awareness of heart health. You should also know: Heart disease is the No.1 killer of women, causing 1 in 3 deaths each year. That’s approximately one woman every minute! Did you know this??? I certainly did not! Fortunately, by adopting a few simple habits you can achieve a heart healthy lifestyle.

What is Million Hearts™?

Million Hearts™ is a national initiative to prevent 1 million heart attacks and strokes over five years. Million Hearts™ brings together communities, health systems, nonprofit organizations, federal agencies, and private-sector partners from across the country to fight heart disease and stroke.

There are steps that each one of us can take to help our nation reach this goal. Be one in a Million Hearts to make a positive difference.
