Here Comes Peter Cottontail

In addition to the celebrating the spiritual side of Easter Sunday, our family always has so much fun celebrating the joy of Easter with beloved traditions. Even though our girls are grown, they still love getting Easter baskets filled with dyed eggs, candy, chocolate Easter bunnies (with the ears bitten off of course! Haha!) and little gifts. We leave a plate of carrots out for the Easter Bunny and he always leaves the girls a note for them to read the next morning. I found this darling Bunny Box (Design #57771) from Snapdragon Snippets in the Silhouette Online Store and thought it Continue Reading →

Here’s to the Good Life! Wine bottle tag.

I’ve been busy, busy, busy using my Silhouette Cameo and Stampin’ Up! supplies to make  things for my little sister’s 50th birthday party!!! ( I don’t know how I’m old enough to have a little sister that is 50!!! Haha!) My sister Barb is always positive and upbeat, so I chose “Life is Good” for the theme. I made wine bottle tags for the tables. (Supply list and directions at end of post.)   Life is good when enjoying a nice bottle of wine with friends and family!  And just like a fine bottle of wine, Barb’s not getting older, Continue Reading →

Silhouette Cameo Project #9 – Carousel Horses & Memories of the Highlands

Silhouette Project #9, Carousel, Peace Love and Joyce

My sister asked me to come up with a table top decoration for a party she is in charge of at her daughter’s school. Their theme is a turn-of-the-century fair. My first thought was that I wanted to make a carousel. When you went to the county fair as a child, didn’t the carousel seem magical? Even as an adult, I still love carousels! Last year my parents and I met up with my sister to spend the day in St. Louis. We were celebrating Mom’s birthday. We headed to the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House at Faust Park, a truly Continue Reading →

Burlap and Blooms Wreath Kit Stampin' Up! 2014 Occasions Catalog

I was asked what my one, absolutely MUST HAVE item is in the new 2014 Stampin’ Up! Occasions catalog. Oh my, that is such a hard question to answer!!!  I love so many of the new products!!! There were several things on my “MUST HAVE” list, but the one item that I have fallen totally IN LOVE with is the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit.  I thought it would be cute when I saw the kit in the catalog… …and I think it’s BEAUTIFUL now that I’ve had a chance to make it and hang it in Continue Reading →

Lucky You on St. Patrick’s Day!

Everyone wishes that they were lucky enough to be just a wee bit Irish on St. Patrick’s Day! Fortunately, the Irish generously share their holiday with all of us! I remember when we were little and everyone would show up to school wearing something green so we wouldn’t get pinched. Do kids still do that? If you like to decorate for every holiday then you are in luck! Now you can download Stampin’ Up!’s exclusive “Lucky You” ensemble to print out decorations. Bring some luck o’ the Irish to your classroom or home this year! By Sara Wyman, Stampin’ Up! Continue Reading →

Happy 40th Birthday Little Sister!!!

Today is my little sister Melba’s 40th birthday!!!  (I’m not quite sure how that is possible.  I was almost 14 when she was born and I’m sure that I’m not near old enough for my little sister to be 40 years old!!!) Last night my brother-in-law Jay had a surprise party for Melba.  He asked all of us to wear black, now I don’t think 40 is quite old enough to warrant a black theme, but it was his party, so I went along with the theme when I made Melba’s card. And just like the party, the card is Continue Reading →

FOR THOSE THIRSTY GHOULS Halloween Party Ideas

My baby sister, Monique, is a Pre-K teacher at a really cool private school.  It’s one of the few schools left anywhere that lets their kids celebrate Halloween!  It’s not just the last half hour of the day in the classroom either, it’s the whole afternoon and the entire school is involved with all kinds of games and activities.  The local t.v. station comes every year to film their costume parade! At our recent stamp camp we were making all kinds of treat holders.  She wanted to make something special, but she knew the kids would already be getting a Continue Reading →

NO TRICKS, JUST TREATS!

This stair-step card was inspired by Beth Rank’s design.  I made just a couple of minor changes. I just love Halloween!!!  I’m the house with the bubble & fog machines at the front door and the “Welcome” mat that makes scary noises when you step on it.  All the neighborhood kids know that as far as I’m concerned there is no such a thing as being “too old” to trick-or-treat.  I don’t even understand why the community has an age limit for trick-or-treaters.  If you are 13, 18, or even 35 years old, and you still think its fun to Continue Reading →

WORLD CARD MAKING DAY!

Celebrating  my Mother on World Card Making Day! Learn how I made the fabulous bow on her birthday present  and the Happy Birthday banner on the cake later in this post! I’ll be playing in my stamp room today making pink cards to donate to the Splitcoast Hope You Can Cling To card drive which benefits patients at the MD Anderson Breast Cancer Center.  In 2011, our community of card-makers sent over 3,000 cards to women who are facing one of the greatest challenges in their lives.  You will have a chance to make these cards at my 2nd Annual “I’m Dreaming of a PINK Christmas” Breast Cancer Continue Reading →
