Silhouette Cameo Project #9 – Carousel Horses & Memories of the Highlands

Silhouette Project #9, Carousel, Peace Love and Joyce

My sister asked me to come up with a table top decoration for a party she is in charge of at her daughter’s school. Their theme is a turn-of-the-century fair. My first thought was that I wanted to make a carousel. When you went to the county fair as a child, didn’t the carousel seem magical? Even as an adult, I still love carousels! Last year my parents and I met up with my sister to spend the day in St. Louis. We were celebrating Mom’s birthday. We headed to the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House at Faust Park, a truly Continue Reading →

NEW 12 Months of Christmas Club!

When Christmas 2013 arrived I was frantic!!! Unfortunately, both my husband and I had major medical issues throughout 2013, so when Christmas arrived I was totally unprepared. The stamps and supplies for the fabulous cards and awesome gifts I was going to make were still in the box. I swore that Christmas 2014 would be different. Each month throughout 2014 I’m going to make Christmas cards, gifts, gift card holders, gift bags and home decor, so when December arrives I’ll be ready! Doesn’t that sound like a great resolution?!?!?! Do you want to be ready for Christmas? Join my “12 Months Continue Reading →

“Noel” November 2013 Paper Pumpkin Craft Kit from Stampin’ Up!

The November Paper Pumpkin kit was the ABSOLUTE BEST kit since I’ve joined Paper Pumpkin back in August!!!  I loved this kit and made one of the cards exactly as featured on the packaging, it’s even cuter in real life than in the photo….but of course….I wanted to see what else could be done with the kit’s contents so I made several more projects!  My favorite project was the cover for my iPhone! I love to change the design on my iPhone to match the holidays! I’ve had lots of people ask me where I got my fabulous iPhone Continue Reading →

SNOW! LOVE IT OR HATE IT?

The first big snow storm of the winter started early on Christmas evening.  They were forecasting a blizzard and we woke up to a winter wonderland the day after Christmas!  I was really excited, it was sooooo beautiful…. ….and then reality struck.  Not only was it COLD, a dirty 4-letter word in my opinion, but the snow was deep, which meant it would be a scary drive to celebrate Christmas with the other side of our family. I’ve not always had a love/hate relationship with snow, and I won’t bore you with the long story of when the love affair ended. Let’s just say Continue Reading →

Orchard Harvest Scarecrow Gift / Treat Bag

Orchard Harvest Scarecrow Gift Bag Images (c) Stampin’ Up! Is this not just the most adorable Scarecrow you’ve ever seen?!?!?! I first saw him on Frenchie’s website and I asked for permission to CASE him, which she so kindly gave!  Since then I’ve seen various versions of him.  Gail Murray used him on her fabulous fall scrapbooking layout and Rae Harper’s is really cute, too!   That’s where I got the idea for the cute Spice Cake fabric bow. Images (c) Stampin’ Up! I love his “wonky” eyes!  I can’t wait until this afternoon to share him with my Stampin’ Continue Reading →

I’ll be playing in my stamp room today making pink cards to donate to the Splitcoast Hope You Can Cling To card drive which benefits patients at the MD Anderson Breast Cancer Center.  In 2011, our community of card-makers sent over 3,000 cards to women who are facing one of the greatest challenges in their lives.  You will have a chance to make these cards at my 2nd Annual “I’m Dreaming of a PINK Christmas” Breast Cancer Continue Reading →
