I’m sooooooooo EXCITED and honored to be a new member of the Snapdragon Snippets Design Team!!! Over the years I have enjoyed doing many fine arts and crafts, such as watercolor & oil paintings, stained glass windows, silversmithing, jewelry design, beaded jewelry, photography, textile & fiber arts, pottery (I was terrible at pottery), calligraphy and card making with Stampin’ Up! This past Christmas Santa (a/k/a my generous Continue Reading →

Here’s to the Good Life! Wine bottle tag.

I’ve been busy, busy, busy using my Silhouette Cameo and Stampin’ Up! supplies to make  things for my little sister’s 50th birthday party!!! ( I don’t know how I’m old enough to have a little sister that is 50!!! Haha!) My sister Barb is always positive and upbeat, so I chose “Life is Good” for the theme. I made wine bottle tags for the tables. (Supply list and directions at end of post.)   Life is good when enjoying a nice bottle of wine with friends and family!  And just like a fine bottle of wine, Barb’s not getting older, Continue Reading →

Silhouette Cameo Project #9 – Carousel Horses & Memories of the Highlands

Silhouette Project #9, Carousel, Peace Love and Joyce

My sister asked me to come up with a table top decoration for a party she is in charge of at her daughter’s school. Their theme is a turn-of-the-century fair. My first thought was that I wanted to make a carousel. When you went to the county fair as a child, didn’t the carousel seem magical? Even as an adult, I still love carousels! Last year my parents and I met up with my sister to spend the day in St. Louis. We were celebrating Mom’s birthday. We headed to the Sophia M. Sachs Butterfly House at Faust Park, a truly Continue Reading →

Silhouette Cameo Project #8 – LOVE Banner for Valentine’s Day

I LOVE making banners!!! I wanted to make one for the “Valentine’s Project Round-Up” being hosted by The Silhouette Challenge group on Facebook. (Scroll down for details on how I made the banner.) The Silhouette Challenge is such a fabulous group to belong to! It currently has 459 members who are established Silhouette owners and designers and also lots of newbies….like me!!! I joined right after I made my first project and I’ve learned so much already from these wonderfully generous women! So back to the banner. So like I said earlier, I love banners!!! When I heard that Stampin’ Up! Continue Reading →

Silhouette Project #5: Valentine’s Day Table-Top Screen

I am so IN LOVE with my new Silhouette Cameo electronic cutting machine!!!  Every time I use it I say, “Thank you Santa!!!”  (Santa a/k/a my very generous husband!!!) Since Johnny was so sweet to buy the Cameo for me, I wanted to use it to make a very special card for our 30th Anniversary, which is on February 11, 2014. I saw a fabulous Valentine’s table top screen on Kate’s Paper Creations and asked her for permission to CASE the project which she kindly gave. (CASE = Copy and Share Everything!) Once I completed the project I was soooooo Continue Reading →

Silhouette Project #4: Cutest Baby Ever!

I think this is such an adorable baby card! I’ve made this card a lot of times in the past as a baby shower invitation, birth announcement and as a “Welcome Baby” card. So what’s so different about this one???  Besides the darling “Cutest Baby Ever” and the oh-so-pretty Gingham Garden Designer Series paper I used??? Well, in the past, I had to use a template and cut the cards out by hand. Now I’m able to cut all the pieces out with my wonderful new Silhouette Cameo!!!  (Thank you, thank you, thank you Santa a/k/a my very generous husband!!!) Continue Reading →

My Very First Silhouette Cameo Project!!! Peace, Love and Joy Notecard

I’M SO EXCITED!!! I fell in love with Silhouette projects I had seen on Pinterest & various Stampin’ Up! demonstrator’s blogs, so I asked Santa, (my very generous husband), to bring me a Silhouette Cameo. I didn’t get to unpack it until this evening. Once I installed the software I did a quick Google search for tutorials. I found “The Mother Lode” of tutorials at “The Thinking Closet” and based my very first project on Lauren’s “Thousand Thanks” card tutorial. Lauren’s tutorial was great. It was very easy to understand, which I really appreciated since I had never actually seen Continue Reading →
