Essential Oils for Fun in the Summer Sun

Our high today is 91 with thunderstorms starting at 2:00 p.m and going all the way through the night!!! How HOT is it where you live??? What are you doing to beat the heat??? If you’re headed to the beach or the lake to celebrate the 4th of July weekend, you’ve probably packed sunscreen in your bag.  Why apply harmful chemicals that are found in store-bought sunscreens when you can make one that is actually good for you and your family!!! I was excited to find this recipe for sun protection in the Lemon Dropper files to share with you for Continue Reading →

SAFE & Effective Foaming Hand Soap!!!

When I was researching for the “Non-Toxic Life & Home” segments of the “Essential Oils 101” class that I teach through John A. Logan College, I discovered the dangers of triclosan in hand soaps, toothpaste and other personal care products. It completely freaked me out!!!  I immediately threw out the anti-bacterial hand soaps, toothpastes and other products in our home and replaced them with all-natural products!!! I learned that as early as 1978, the FDA proposed a rule that would have prohibited triclosan (and other toxic chemicals) from being used in hand soaps because it was NOT SHOWN TO BE Continue Reading →

Here Comes Peter Cottontail

In addition to the celebrating the spiritual side of Easter Sunday, our family always has so much fun celebrating the joy of Easter with beloved traditions. Even though our girls are grown, they still love getting Easter baskets filled with dyed eggs, candy, chocolate Easter bunnies (with the ears bitten off of course! Haha!) and little gifts. We leave a plate of carrots out for the Easter Bunny and he always leaves the girls a note for them to read the next morning. I found this darling Bunny Box (Design #57771) from Snapdragon Snippets in the Silhouette Online Store and thought it Continue Reading →
